DOWNTON ABBEY COMES TO LEE-FENDALL HOUSE THIS FALL!!
Explore the surprising connections between people and places of the world of Downton Abbey and those of the Lee-Fendall House through special programs the museum this fall! The current owner of Highclere Castle – the real world castle where the popular television program “Downton Abbey” is filmed – is a direct descendant of the original owner of the Lee-Fendall House. Find out which of your favorite characters are based on members of the Fendall family!
DOWNTON ABBEY: THE MOVIE CELEBRATION, September 28, 1:00 PM: Celebrate Downton Abbey: The Movie at an ancestral home of the current Lord Carnarvon of Highclere Castle! Uncover the real-world connections between Downton Abbey and the Lee-Fendall House and find out which of your favorite characters are based on members of the Fendall family. Enjoy refreshments, test your knowledge of Downton Abbey in our trivia contest, learn the ins and outs of antique tableware, explore the house through a scavenger hunt, and discover plenty of photo opportunities throughout the house and grounds. Space is limited so we recommend purchasing your tickets in advance. Tickets are available through Eventbrite and are $25 for adults and $15 for fans under the age of 15. Member tickets are $15; members please contact the museum at (703) 548-1789 to make your reservations. Please Note: Downton Abbey: The Movie will not be screened at this event.

Deep dive into the surprising similarities between people and places of the world of Downton Abbey and those of the Lee-Fendall House through special “Downton Abbey” themed tours of the museum this fall! Tours are offered Sundays at 2:00 PM September and October. Advance tickets are $10/ person and are available through Eventbrite. FREE for members!
