The Virginia Trust for Historic Preservation

The Lee-Fendall House Museum is the only property owned and administered by the Virginia Trust for Historic Preservation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational institution whose mission is to preserve the architectural and historic value of the Lee-Fendall house and its garden, and to stimulate the public’s knowledge of and appreciation for local and national history, while advancing the cause of historic preservation. To these ends the Virginia Trust for Historic Preservation: – Ensures the physical preservation of the Lee-Fendall House; – Conserves and uses a collection of tangible objects; and, – Interprets to a wide public, through exhibits and educational programs, the role of the inhabitants of the Lee-Fendall House from 1785 to 1969 in the development of the City of Alexandria, the region, and the nation.
